Crockettfest 2008

We had another fun year camping over at Crocketts Campground near WI Dells. Lillian did very well sleeping in her pack 'n' play in the tent. The toughest part was Friday night when a big storm rolled in after we went to bed. I was up for most of the night praying we wouldn't be blown away or struck by lightning. I found out the next morning that Shannon and Danielle were doing the same in their own tents. Everyone else slept through it! When it finally got light outside, we had about 2 inches of water in the bottom of our tent. A ton of stuff got wet but we were alive so I was ok with that! After the bad weather moved out, the bugs moved in. I don't think I have ever seen so many mosquitos in my life! We managed to escape with only a few bites due to the gallons of bug spray that we used. Lillian had to be in her stroller with her bug net over her in order to even be outside. When she was held, we put the bug net over her and person holding her to ensure no bites.

Other than the weather and bugs, most of the weekend was spent hanging out with Pat's siblings and cousins. Josh was there so Lillian and him got to spend some time playing together (well, since they are a 3 month old and one year old they spent time staring at each other). Fun to see them interact though!

We camped at the same place as last year but had the advantage of a port-a-potty near our site this year. So nice to not have to use the facilities in the woods like last year! Next year the managers promised us a pool at the site. Haha...yeah, right!

It was so much fun to take our little peanut on her first camping trip. Hard to believe that on next year's trip she'll be doing all the same things Josh was doing this year (eating people food, walking, signing, talking, etc...)

Thanks for a fun weekend Thuente/Walsh crew!
