Last weekend we drove all the way up to the tip of Door County (Washington Island) for a family reunion on my mom's side. It was quite an experience! 31 family members all made it up for the trip. After an 8 hour drive, we made it just in time for the torrential downpour to begin. It lasted for over 2 hours. So, we waited it out in the cabin my mom rented and tapped the keg :) We enjoyed watching my cousin Heidi run from cabin to cabin giving beer to other family members and delivering messages about where dinner would be held. She was soaked! It was raining crazy hard! Saturday was a beautiful day, thank goodness! We went to the beach all together and enjoyed the sunshine. Saturday night was fiesta night and we had a meal of walking tacos and a pinata for the kids. We also broke out some glow sticks to wear while sitting around the fire together. It was such a nice time to see everyone besides just at Christmas. Lillian LOVED seeing all of her 2nd cousins. It was so much fun to watch her interact with other kids. She was in heaven. I brought my camera with me on the trip but never seemed to have it when I needed it. I took 7 pictures total...so silly of me! Now it's off to another camping trip with Pat's siblings and cousins...Crockettfest 2009...more to come!
